Correctie Kerst Koe / Correction Christmas Cow

Helaas is er kleine fout in het patroon van de Vrolijke Kerst Koe geslopen.
De blauwe kleur garen van ThreadworX nummer 11389 moet ThreadworX 11383 zijn.
Excuses voor het ongemak.

Unfortunately, there was a small mistake in the Happy Christmas Cow pattern.
The blue color embroidery thread of ThreadworX number 11389 must be ThreadworX 11383.

Kerst Koe, Christmas Cow :-)

Een vrolijke Kerst Koe die haar zwarte vlekken tijdelijk voor de feestdagen verwisseld heeft voor hulstblaadjes! De kerstmuts past maar net over haar oren en ze klingelt met haar bel om de andere koeien te vertellen dat de kerstboom staat en de lichtjes branden!

A Happy Christmas Cow has changed her black spots temporarily in Holly leaves! The Chrismas hat just fits her ears and she jingle with her bell to tell the other cows that the Christmas tree lights are on!

Het patroon is 74 x 58 kruissteken. 

Afmeting geborduurd op 12 draads linnen 12,5 x 9,5 cm.

The pattern is 74 x 58 cross-stitches.

Finished size on 32 count linen 12,5 x 9,5 cm.

ThreadworX  blauw/blue 11383

ThreadworX  groen/green 1047

ThreadworX geel/yellow   1105

DMC kleur conversie is bijgevoegd maar geeft niet hetzelfde resultaat.

DMC color conversion is included but does not give the same result.

Het patroon bevat ook een extra patroontje met hulstblaadjes en een ster in het midden.

Leuk voor een ornamentje, kadolabel of een Kerst kaart!

The pattern also includes an extra pattern with holly leaves and a star in the middle.

Nice for an ornament, gift label or a Christmas card!

Ook het Hulstkransje in het patroon is leuk voor een kado label.

Also the Holly wreath of the pattern is also fun for a gift.

Jarenlang heb ik quilts ontworpen en gemaakt en vooral over de geschiedenis heb ik veel gelezen. Ofschoon de Amerikaanse patchwork quilts heel bekend zijn komt de oorsprong uit Europa. Ook in Nederland zijn hele oude doorgestikte dekens bekend. Meestal uit een mooi stuk stof, omdat het duur was. Met de komst van de VOC in 1602 kwam er meer textiel en zijde naar Nederland. In de 19e eeuw kwamen meer sitsen stoffen beschikbaar. Lappendekens met patronen van driehoekige stukjes stof en met een licht en donker effect werden populair. Deze kruissteek patronen zijn daarop gebaseerd. Met in het midden het oude Hollandse alfabet van mijn moeders merklap uit 1923.

For years I designed and made quilts and especially about the history I read a lot. Although the American patchwork quilts are well known, the originating is in Europe. Also in the Netherlands are very old quilts known. Usually a made from one piece of beautiful fabric, because it was very expensive. With the coming of the VOC the East India Company in 1602 came more textile and silk to the Netherlands. In the 19th century more chintz fabrics became available. Quilts with patterns of triangular pieces of fabric with a light and dark effect became popular. This cross-stitch patterns based thereon. In the middle the old Dutch alphabet of my mother's sampler from 1923.

Ik heb er een kussentje van gemaakt met een bijpassende rand van chenille [Lady Dot Creations chenille kleur Toast]

Dit patroon is in Kerst kleuren maar kan ook in eigen favoriete kleuren geborduurd worden.
This pattern is in Christmas colors, but can also be cross stitch in your own their favorite colors.

                           Borduurgaren Soie d Alger; 2942, 2936 en 2934 in rose en Kerst rood en 1845 en 1842 in licht en donker groen. [DMC nummers bijgevoegd]

The stitch count is 130 x 130 cross stitches.
The model is stitched on Belfast linen.
The threads are by Soie d Alger; 2942, 2936 and 2934 in pink and Christmas red,
1845 and 1842 in light and Christmas green. DMC conversion included.

Atelier Steekjes en Kruisjes.

Kerst challenge / Christmas challenge

Al jaren neem ik graag een kijkje op de franse website Jura point de croix. De getalenteerde borduursters maken zulke mooie projecten en vaak kun je er aan meedoen. Voor "defi de Noel" de Kerst challenge heb ik me dit jaar ingeschreven, het is gratis. Mijn Frans is niet zo goed maar  met Google Translate kom je er wel ;-))
Laat een reactie achter op "commentaires" onderaan het bericht met je naam en email en je krijgt de PDF bestanden in de email.

Er een een beslissende regel dat je NIETS van je vorderingen op je blog of andere sociale media zet en op 22 december de foto's van je gemaakte werk naar het opgegeven email adres stuurt. Op kerst ochtend worden alle borduurwerken op de website gepubliceerd.

Ook mag je de patronen en kleuren veranderen, er nieuwe van maken en van alles toevoegen. Heb je niet zoveel tijd dan maak je een klein gedeelte eruit. De patronen zijn zoals altijd heel mooi en charmant Frans!

For years, I'd take a look at the french site Jura point de croix. The talented embroiderers make such beautiful projects, and often you can participate. For "Defi de Noel" the Christmas Challenge I have registered this year, it's free. My French is not so good but with Google Translate you get there;-)
Leave a comment on "commentaires" underneath the message with your name and email and you will get the PDF files in the mail.

A explicit rule that you NOTHING of your progress put on your blog or other social media and on December 22 at the pictures of your completed work sent to the specified email address. On Christmas morning, all embroideries published on the website.

You can also change the patterns and colors, are making new pattern and add everything you like. When you have not so much time you make a small part of it.. The patterns are as always very beautiful and charming French!

De dagen worden korter en ondanks de mooie nazomer komen de feestdagen dichterbij.
Voor die feestelijke tijd heb ik kleine kruissteek patroontjes ontworpen maar wel met een groot effect.

Een wens Label en een Envelop kussentje om als kerstkaart te sturen of om aan een kerstkado te hangen. Het zijn ook leuke kadootjes om te geven. 

The days are getting shorter in the Netherlands and despite the lovely late summer Holiday season is coming closer.
For the festive time I have designed small cross stitch patterns but with a great effect. They are also nice gifts.

A wish Label and Envelope cushion to send as Christmas card or to hang on a Christmas present. They are also the nice gifts to give.

Kerstbal / Xmas Bauble

Met de voorbereidingen voor de feestdagen ben ik al begonnen. Om dit jaar een Scandinavisch tintje te geven heb ik kerstballen in die kleuren ontworpen. Ze zijn eigenlijk triangel vormig en daardoor heel makkelijk in elkaar te zetten. Ik heb er een kleine workshop van gemaakt zodat iedereen ze kan maken :-))

I am already begun with the preparing for the holidays. To give this year a Scandinavian look I have designed baubles in these colors. They are actually triangle shaped and therefore very easy to put together. I have made a small tutorial so that everyone can make them :-))

Workshop Kerstbal / Tutorial Xmas Bauble

Kijk eerst goed naar het patroon en de letters voor je begint!

Borduur het patroon met wit borduurgaren  op rode Aida of geweven borduurstof  van 5,5 kruissteken per cm. Dan wordt de bal ongeveer 7,5 cm breed en 8 cm lang. 

Vervang evt. de geborduurde sneeuwvlokken voor decoratie sneeuwvlokken. Zie foto 1 en foto 9.

Please, look closely at the pattern and letters before you start!
Embroider the pattern with white embroidery thread on red Aida fabric or woven embroidery fabric  of 5.5 crosstitches per cm. The ball shall be approximately 7.5 cm wide and 8 cm. long.

Replace if you like the embroidered snowflakes for decorations snowflakes. See photo 1 and photo 9.

Maak met stiksteken alle randen en ga 2 x over de middenstukjes, zie foto 2. Knip de stof  NIET langs de randen af, maar vouw op de stiksteek randen naar achteren. Dat geeft stevigheid aan de bal en geen rafelranden. 

Made with backstitches all edges and go 2 times on the middle pieces, see photo 2. Cut the fabric NOT along the edges, but fold on the backstitch edges backwards. This gives strength to the ball and no frayed edges.

Neem 1 draad Rood borduurgaren van 1 meter lang en vouw die dubbel en steek de losse einden door het oog van een stompe borduurnaald. Vouw de punten A tegen elkaar aan naar achteren en steek er een speld in, zie foto 3.

Take one strand Red embroidery thread of 1 meter long and fold in half and insert the loose ends through the eye of a blunt embroidery needle. Fold the points A to the back against each other and insert a pin in it, see picture 3.

Begin aan de punt A en neem aan weerszijden 1 stiksteekje op en steek de draad door de lus heen als aanhechting. Neem daarna steeds een steekje aan weerszijden op en werk zo naar het midden , zie foto 4. 

Start at the point A and take on both sides one backstitch  and insert the needle through the loop as beginning. Then take a backstitch at each side and work your way to the center, see picture 4.

Neem in het middenstuk beide stiksteken op om hetzelfde effect te krijgen als de rest van de steken en werk door naar de top van B. Maak 1 steekje extra op de laatste steek.

Take in the middle both backstitches to get the same effect as the rest of the stitching and work through to the top of B. Make one extra stitch in the last stitch.

 Ga door naar C, zie foto 5, en maak 1 steekje extra bij de eerste steek. Ga naar beneden naar D.

               Go to C, see picture 5, and make one extra stitch in the first stitch. Go down to D.

Vouw de punten van E naar binnen en werk weer naar boven E, zie foto 6.

Fold the points of  E backwards and work to the top of  E, see picture 6.

Laat het bovenste stukje open om de bal te vullen met Panda vulling of ander vulmateriaal. Neem een ophang koord of lint, vouw het dubbel en maak er een knoop in. Steek de koord tussen de vulling en maak het laatste stukje dicht. Zie foto 7.

Leave the upper part open to fill the ball with filling material. Take a hanging cord or ribbon, fold it in half and make a knot. Insert the cord between the filling and close the ball. See picture 7.

Met het laatste restje garen kunnen er kerstballetjes of klokjes aan gehangen worden. 

Werk het draad af door een paar steekjes op elkaar en steek de naald naar binnen en kom aan de zijkant naar buiten. Knip de draad vlak langs de stof af. Zie foto 8.

With the last bit of thread you can attach Christmas balls or bells .

After that make a few stitches on each other and insert the needle in the ball and come out on one side. Cut the thread close to the fabric. See picture 8.

Als variatie kun je er sneeuwvlokken of andere decoraties op de bal plakken in plaats van te borduren. Hang er evt een kerstballetje of iets anders aan de onderkant van de bal.

Maak de kerstbal ook eens op witte borduurstof en borduur met rood borduurgaren. Of gebruik je eigen kleuren!!

As a variation, you can glue snowflakes or other decorations on the ball instead of embroidery. Hang  a Christmas ball or something else at the bottom of the ball if you like.

Make the bauble also on white embroidery fabric and embroider with red embroidery thread. Or choose your own colors!!
