Over een week is het Vaderdag en heb je nog geen kadootje voor je creatieve vader?
Wat dacht je van een geborduurde schilders penseel. Natuurlijk ook als kadootje te geven aan alle kunst en gewone schilders ;-))

Borduur het patroon op Aida of geweven borduurstof, 5,5 kruisjes per cm. Dan wordt het penseel ongeveer 21 cm lang. Borduur ook de omtrek in stiksteekjes.

Embroider the pattern on Aida or woven embroidery fabric, 14 count. Then the brush will be about 21 cm / 8,5 inch long. Also embroider the outline in backstitches.

LET OP! Wil je er een boekenlegger van maken, knip het patroon NIET uit en werk de rechthoek verder af als boekenlegger naar keuze.
NOTICE! If you want to make a bookmark, don't cut out the pattern from the fabric and make a bookmark of your choice.

Wil je er een penseel van maken, borduur dan nogmaals het patroon of alleen de buitenste stiksteek lijn. Knip de penselen uit op 1 cm rondom de buitenste stiksteek lijn.

Do you want to make a brush, embroider once again the pattern or only the outside backstitch line. Cut the brushes from 1 cm / 3/8 inch, around the backstitch line. See the picture above.

Vouw de buitenste stiksteek lijn naar binnen, begin op 5 cm van de punt van het penseel aan een kant met een overhands steekje -zie foto- de beide zijden aan elkaar te naaien.

Fold the outer backstitch line inwards, beginning at 5 cm / 2 inches from the tip of the brush on one side with an slip stitch both sides together -see photo above of the sewing. 

Ga om de punt heen tot 5 cm en vul eerst de punt met een fiberfil of pandavulling. Dan weer 5 cm dichtnaaien aan weerskanten, neem voor de andere kant ook een draad! Dan weer vullen en zo verder gaan tot aan de top van het penseel.

Go around the point to 5 cm / 2 inch, and  first fill the point with fiberfill or other stuffing. Then sew again 5cm / 2 inch on both sides, take on the other side also a thread! Then fill again and so continue to the top of the brush.

En klaar is het schilderspenseel!
And finished is your painters brush!
